[Boston-Area Action 3/25/26] Show-Going Plans & New Show Announcements
Posted on March 25, 2026 at 10:39 am | No Comments
Another Wednesday, another post of upcoming Boston-area shows on my radar along with new live shows announced within the past week. Essential escapism.
Some stand-outs from the imminent shows: Eugene & company are back in town tonight as Gogol Bordello plays the Royale and brings along Puzzled Panther, Piebald are at Roadrunner tomorrow night, and Downtown Boys (who just announced a new record) are at Deep Cuts on Friday. Saturday’s a good one with Hey I’m Outside at Remnant Satellite and Corin’s birthday show with the Zip-Ups is at Medford Brewing Company. O’Brien’s also hosts the first of their free New Music Matinees. Kier Byrnes & his band are at the Burren, too. Jeez. Busy day.
As far as new shows go, there’s the LUCE benefit that Hotline TNT are headlining in JP on April 21st, which goes up against the just-announced next edition of Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out. Joe Pernice also booked a couple nights at Club Passim, and the Somergloom Festival announced that this year’s edition will take place from August 6th to August 9th.
Some other good things in these lists, so have a look, and also at the more complete rundown in the right-hand column over there —>
Here’s what’s up, and what’s further ahead. Maybe I’ll see you out there…

[Boston-Area Action 3/18/26] Show-Going Plans & New Show Announcements

Alright, my brain is buzzing, and I should probably crank out this weekly Wednesday Boston-area shows post before my lunch break ends and I get distracted by something that I actually get paid for.
So here it is… a run-down of local shows I’m hoping to check out (or that you might be into) in the week ahead, along with just-announced ones that have appeared on the rusty ol’ radar. Comment with additions/corrections, but check the right-column over there before you do. A more complete list sits over there.
http://www.bradleysalmanac.com/
Not a ton of solid personal show-going plans ahead, which I’m fine with since the last couple weeks have been nuts. I somehow won a pair tix to see the Hives on Friday (wanna join? I have yet to invite a co-pilot), might see Black Beach on Saturday, and am definitely going to this month’s edition of Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out on Tuesday. Oh, and I’m also gonna hang with Bob Odenkirk and a couple hundred other people at the Brattle tonight. Beyond those intentions, I’m open to influence. Or just my couch.
As far as new announcements go, I’m psyched that there’s a Programme 4 stop booked for Arlington (though not psyched it’s on the same night as Good Flying Birds :-/). Also conflicted by the Breeders show in Beverly that clashes with Pedro the Lion at a Cambridge church. I am absolutely thrilled that Bent Shapes are back (!), and am mighty tempted by that Public Image Ltd. show in October. My love of Lu Edmonds (and, ok, yeah, those PiL songs), outweighs my distaste for current-era Lydon, and I’m surprised they’re finally coming back after Johnny’s clear dissatisfaction with the crowd size last time they were in town… 14 years ago (!). Time heals all, I guess, and they’re playing a smaller venue this time.
So here’s what up, and what’s further ahead…
