The Return of the Muses!
Fantastic freakin’ news. A band that has put out some of my favorite records, the band responsible for Amie and I meeting in the first place, and who I thought would never record together again… is working on a new album. Yes, the Throwing Muses are back. Here’s some excerpts from what Billy O’Connell, Kristin Hersh’s husband and manager, just had to say on the Throwing Music messageboard:
It was so early at the time that the first rumors started popping up, that I couldn’t say for sure it was happening…but now I can.
There WILL be another Throwing Muses record. It’s recorded, but not yet mixed and is due out late January 2003.
Personel will be Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo, and Bernard Georges, with Tanya Donnelly doing backing vocals on several songs. The recordings rock. Hard. The few people who have heard what was done have all commented on the speed, intensity and raw-ness of the songs – 12 in all.
to reiterate, there will be another Throwing Muses record…and how! As the record draws nearer to completion we’ll be sure to update you all. We’re all very excited right now!
Love,
BillyO and all of us here at Throwing Music
This news has given me goosebumps (yes, I’m TM fan-geek). Hooray, indeed.
