[Boston-Area Action 6/10/2026] Show-Going Plans & New Show Announcements
Posted on June 10, 2026 at 12:06 pm | No Comments
As every Tuesday winds down, I think “Hey, I should really get a jumpstart on the weekly Wednesday shows post so I’m not scrambling tomorrow.” And every Tuesday, I … don’t do that. So here I am on another work-busy Wednesday pulling this thing together during my lunch break, when I should really not be staring at a screen. Ah well.
So here’s the regular “imminent Boston shows you might want to check out, and some I’ll definitely be at” post, along with a run down of area shows that have been announced since last Wednesday. Great stuff abounds.
Last month I did this insane run of 8 consecutive show nights in a row, and it absolutely crushed me. Swore I wasn’t going to let that happen again (as if it’s something that happens to me, rather than something I choose to do). So this impending stretch of four shows should be a breeze, right? For the record: Echo and the Bunnymen tomorrow night, Mekons on Friday, Verona Downs & Arto Vaun on Saturday, and Robyn Hitchcock on Sunday. Then a blessed night off before a killer Earfull installment on Tuesday night. Time to try out my new compression socks.
Other than those personal plans, there’s Cracker at the Middle East tonight, and John Hodgman, Jesse Thorn, & Eugene Mirman at the Coolidge tomorrow, which is up against Hrishikesh Hirway & Min Jin Lee at The Sinclair. On Friday, Hallelujah The Hills will be at The Haven JP, and Saturday brings Pride Fest to the Bellforge Arts Center with Melissa Ferrick. Astral B.itch is at O’Brien’s on Sunday, while Brittany Rose Queen’s birthday bash is happening at Deep Cuts. On Monday, Adult Learners celebrate their 7-inch release in that same room with the Cowboys & Orange Whip, and Tuesday has Hovvdy playing at MGM Music Hall, along with Allston Pudding’s free spring series continuing at Zone 3 in Lower Allston. Whew.
Announcement-wise, all I can really think about is the crazy Dromedary Records DROMFEST ’26 lineup in Catskill, NY on Labor Day weekend, which is like three hours outside of my Boston-show-news jurisdiction. But holy jeebus, that list of bands is nutso, and there are a lot of Boston connections in there. Tickets secured, cannot wait.
Otherwise, I’m psyched to see Rick Maguire of PILE + Hallelujah The Hills in Hingham in August, and Neko Case with Dan Destroyer Bejar in Lexington in October (just snagged pre-sale tix for that one). Many other announcements are below, and if I’m missing something announced or upcoming that you’re into, add a comment. But check out the right column over there first, where a massive list resides —>
