[Boston-Area Action 9/16/2026] Show-Going Plans & New Show Announcements

Hey, it’s a weekly-Wednesday-Boston-area shows post on an actual Wednesday. Been awhile. I’ve gotten myself correct enough to pull this off in a timely manner, though I should really be organizing the cluttered mess that surrounds me here in my Lower Allston nerd-cave. It’s starting to resemble the inside of my skull.
After the whirlwind of my Scotland-Cure-Slowdive trip into the wonderfully overwhelming DromFest weekend, I find myself in a bit of a personal show-going lull. Semi-intentional, and much-needed. Not saying I won’t show up at random gigs from the first list below (there are a ton of great things happening in the next 7 days), but it’s nice to have an unmapped stretch. Taking my kid to the Undertale concert on Saturday (iykyk), but otherwise, nothing solid booked until Luna on Tuesday at the The Wilbur (which sadly conflicts with THREE other shows: The Charlatans & Frankie Rose at the Paradise, Bikini Kill & Downtown Boys at Roadrunner, and Wesley Stace with Eugene Mirman at Passim :-/). Will probably swing by this week’s free Friday Hilken & Melissa residency at Notch Brewing in Brighton with guest Emily Grogan), and catch some of the Roslindale Porchfest on Saturday. Other excellent impending options are in the first list below, but if there’s anything I missed, leave a comment. I’m open, and things always slip through the cracks.
Recent-announcements-wise, the openers for the two Superdrag shows at Brighton Music Hall have been announced (The Gravel Pit! The Hilken & Melissa Band!), Guillermo Sexo are reuniting for a show at Deep Cuts with some ace openers, Lily Seabird will be playing there in December, and yeah, those Oasis hints did indeed point in Gillette’s direction. Fvck that venue & its owner, though.
