Mp3s: Bob Mould live in Boston

Posted on February 18, 2008 at 12:00 pm | No Comments

Bob Mould, whose “District Line” disc has just been released, visited Boston last November in support of his “Circle of Friends” live DVD, treating a sold-out Paradise Lounge crowd to an intimate half-acoustic/half-electric set. He pulled songs not just from his distant Husker Du past and his own solo history, but gave us a peek into his immediate future (with District Line’s “Again and Again“) and even a preview of what’s still to come, with a couple tracks that may appear on his next release, one of which was written just three weeks prior. Yes, he’s been cranking them out, and in fact has an entire album ready to go (and probably out in ’09) thanks to a broken foot that left him laid up last summer. Hey, I’d never wish any harm on my faves, but a bonus album is one hell of a silver lining to immobility.

Bob asked that I not share the super-new stuff (he’ll unveil those when they’re good and ready), but here’s the rest of his solo set. Pick up “District Line” here, the excellent “Circle of Friends” DVD over here, and grab tickets for his upcoming March 12th full-band show inside the Paradise’s main room right here. More Bob merch can be purchased here.
