Tonight! : ‘Nac Attack at Great Scott (with DJ Me)

So it doesn’t get much more last-minute than this…
I just found out that tonight, being Wednesday, October the 17th, 2007, I’ll be DJing for a couple hours down at Great Scott in Allston, playing strictly songs by bands that are performing in the Boston area during the next month or so. Do come down and heckle me, won’t you? I’ve pulled together one hell of a playlist, and I’m extremely psyched to share it.
If this kind of scenario sounds familiar, it’s because that’s how my every-other-month slot at River Gods (as part of Tourfilter’s DJ Nights) usually goes down. Unexpectedly, my planned set there tomorrow got canceled thanks to the Red Sox and their in-progress (and very painful) playoff series against the Indians. As a Sox fan, I can understand why RGs got a TV for this, but as someone who put hours into planning the perfect DJ set, I was pretty bummed. Especially when instead of hearing songs chosen by me, you might just be watching our season come to a frustrating end (yes, they’ve nearly crushed my faith… Jacoby Ellsbury, the Nation turns it’s hope-filled eyes to you).
So it’s Great Scott to my rescue! Can’t thank them enough for letting me step in and get my DJ fix tonight. See you there? I’m starting at 9 o’clock, and if you hang around until my two-hours or so set is done, you might even score one of the discs full of all the tracks I’m playing. You can get an idea of what’s on them by looking at that list of upcoming shows on the left. Good bands abound.
