London View…

from my hotel room, nineteen stories up…

That’s Earl’s Court in the background there, looking southwest from central London.
I was abducted last night by a crazy drunken Irishman from Cork, who had also abducted three Irish ladies in town for “the big rugby match”. (“Hey, Mr. Laptop, get over ‘ere and ‘ave a drink wif us!”) I guess Ireland beat the world champs (although it was just a ‘friendly’ match), so he treated me to gin & tonics along with incomprehensible rugby rules lessons. The perfect start to my two weeks abroad.
10 hours of sleep and I wake to appropriately grey clouds outside my hotel window. A light lunch and a quick call to Jo to make some plans… a driving tour of London with her and Shaun, and I can’t wait. I’m sitting in the lobby on a wireless connection, waiting for them to arrive, excited to finally get out of this Holiday Inn. Time to get manic on the streets of London…
